Essentials of Clinical Genetics

We are delighted to invite you to the Pre-Conference Workshop on Essentials in Clinical Genetics, organized as part of Kerala Pedicon 2025. This hands-on workshop is designed to equip pediatricians with practical skills to decode, interpret, and apply genetics in clinical practice.

Workshop Highlights

•  The Foundation of Genetic Family History: Hands-on session in pedigree drawing and analysis

• Pointers for Early Identification of Genetic Disorders in Pediatric Practice, to enable timely referral and intervention.

• Literature search: To identify the genetic condition, and understand the inheritance pattern and prognosis.

• Choice of appropriate genetic testing guided by clinical presentation of the suspected genetic disorder

• Focus on updated management of common genetic conditions and existing support systems for improving outcome.

• Genetic counselling: scenario-based simulated sessions to enhance communication skills and ethical decision-making
